Battlefield! BoC & BoG

The release of the Battlefield, both The Battle of Constantinople and The Battle of Gaugamela have been a somewhat success, with lag and fun.

Like most features in Evony, they’re fun when they work. The Battlefields are amazing for testing out your skills as an alliance and just to have some fun. It appears that a few tactics have come out over the past few weeks.

The rules are very similar for both events, each event opens once a week and players can choose their players and time slots 1 day before the event. Players must be in the alliance for 3 days prior to the signup time and keep 15 or higher. The alliance must be in the top 10 and be 14 days old. R4s and R5s of an alliance can sign members up if they meet these requirements. Each alliance will be signed pared with and alliance, if they don’t get a match, your signed up players will get a Bye Gift.

During the battlefields, members will receive a battlefield bubble for 2 hours and will get their main bubble extended by 2 hours. The battlefield lasts 2 hours. The first 5 minutes of the battlefield, players aren’t able to use the alliance teleports, of which they have 40. Once the 5 minutes are up, players can teleport anywhere apart from the enemy spawn zone, do note that enemies can attack you whilst you’re in your spawn zone. Players then capture buildings and kill enemies, the alliance with the highest score at the end wins! All troops go to your hospital, including siege. All troops can be healed, which don’t cost resources, only resources at a reduced cost. Once you leave the battlefield, your troops are automatically healed. You can leave mid-game, which your troops are still healed but you’ll lose all your points and you will not receive any rewards. No resources are plundered when in the battlefield.

It’s also a good thing to note, that you can purchase general tokens for about either 2K badges or 6K dragon crystals. These tokens can give you generals that aren’t available in the tavern, which is good news for non-coiners!

Battle of Constantinople

The Battle of Constantinople was the first of the battlefields to be released and is the most important of the two because you can obtain badges through it. These are needed for upgrading Dragon gear to Ares gear costing 800 badges each upgrade and the Wonder. The level 1 wonder costs 1700 badges and is also costly due to the resources and other requirements.

Battle of Constantinople (BoC) best ways to win:

Alliances have seemed to have the best success with starving their opponents of teleport chances as once they’re out of teleport chances, they’re screwed. The way to do this is to capture all 6 portals and not to let your enemies have them. Once you’ve secured all of the portals and your enemies have used up all of their teleport chances, it’s game over for them. They can’t take them back without a lot of troops, which you’ll be able to kill as you can teleport to the portals directly.

Ghosting, ghosting is when you purposely rally a building/keep to hide your troops, troops inside a rally can’t be hit. Although, once a keep is force ported, this takes 3 hits during the battlefield, all troops will return home. Do keep in mind, the only way to find players after they’ve been force ported is to use the knights hall, which, when timed well with a force port can be used very effectively.

Recently, with evony becoming increasingly more laggy, there are other methods to find enemies straight after they’ve been force ported to get their ghosted troops. To do this, wait for your target with ghosted troops to attack either a building or a player. Once they do this, force port them. In the active battles, you can see their coordinates and these will change once you force port them, their attack will stay in the menu here, so you can easily find them after force porting.

Battle of Gaugamela

The Battle of Gaugamela is similar to BoC, but it has less buildings and the addition of bosses. Killing bosses will give you score depending on the level of boss that you hit. The main purpose of BoG is to get Dragon Crystals! These can be used to purchase the second pasture dragon at 1400 crystals, or to lock in dragon refinements (as opposed to gems  on gear).

Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) rewards:

  • Lumber (20m max)
  • Ore (20m max)
  • Gold (5m max)
  • Research stones (200 max)

To obtain the maximum, you must score 500 or higher, any lower and you’ll get the proportion the same to your score below 500.

  • Dragon Crystals (400 max)
  • Gem Chest (6 max)
  • Resource Chest (6 max)
  • Speedup Chest (6 max)
  • Gold Chest (6 max)
  • Runestone chest (240 max)

To obtain the maximum, you must score 1,200 or more, any lower and you’ll get a different a lower amount of these rewards (Note – during Ultimate War, these rewards are doubled).

Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) Buildings:

There 4 different types of buildings:

  • Portal – There are 4 portals around the Battlefield. Occupy it for 3 continuous minutes to obtain 1 teleport chance shared by the whole alliance. Occupy it for 1 continuous minute to obtain 1 score.
  • Battlefield Hospital – There is only 1 Battlefield Hospital on the Battlefield. Occupy it to increase the whole Alliance’s healing speed by 60%. Occupy it for 1 continuous minute to obtain 1 score.
  • Blessing Tower – There is only 1 Blessing towers around the Battlefield. Occupy it to increase the whole Alliance’s attack by 20% and defence by 20%. Occupy it for 1 continuous minute to obtain 1 score.
  • March Tower – There is only 1 March tower around the battlefield. Occupy it to increase all the allies’ march speed to monsters by 50% and reduces enemies march speed by 30%. Occupy it for 1 continuous minute to earn 1 score.

Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) ways to obtain score (other than buildings):

There are two ways to obtain scores, other than buildings, kill enemies troops, or kill bosses on the battlefield.

Enemy troops give the following scores:

  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 1 troop(s) to earn 2.2 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 2 troop(s) to earn 6.7 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 3 troop(s) to earn 11.1 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 4 troop(s) to earn 17.8 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 5 troop(s) to earn 24.4 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 6 troop(s) to earn 33.3 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 7 troop(s) to earn 42.2 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 8 troop(s) to earn 51.1 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 9 troop(s) to earn 60.0 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 10 troop(s) to earn 71.1 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 11 troop(s) to earn 84.4 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 12 troop(s) to earn 100.0 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 13 troop(s) to earn 115.6 score.
  • Kill 1,000,000 tier 14 troop(s) to earn 133.3 score.

Bosses give the following points:

  • Boss level 4 gives 1 score
  • Boss level 5 gives 1 score
  • Boss level 6 gives 2 score
  • Boss level 7 gives 2 score
  • Boss level 8 gives 3 score
  • Boss level 9 gives 3 score
  • Boss level 10 gives 4 score
  • Boss level 11 gives 5 score
  • Boss level 12 gives 8 score
  • Boss level 13 gives 8 score
  • Boss level 14 gives 8 score
  • Boss level 15 gives 35 score

There are three types of bosses in the battlefield. The center boss (level 15) refreshes every 15 minutes. The big bosses (level 12, 13 and 14) are found in the central area refresh every 10 minutes and the smaller bosses ( level 4 – 11) refresh every 5 minutes and can be found all around the map.

Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) best ways to win:

As daft as it might sound, killing bosses! Killing lots of bosses will return lots of points, although killing troops will return a higher amount if you can kill lots.  Be on the lookout for opponents killing bosses and wait for their march to return and kill their troops, not only will you get points, but you’ll stop them scoring for their alliance and increase your chances of winning.

Like BoC, you can also use lag to your advantage, in the same way. Wait for your opponent to march on a building or keep, and then force port them, their coordinates will update in the alliance war tab! Note, this doesn’t work for when they’re ghosting, as these marches will disappear when you force port.

Again, like BoC, it’s a good idea to starve your opponent of teleport chances, as this allows you to rally them without them porting out.
